I was talking to my brother about women’s attitudes towards their bodies, especially regarding weight/fat, and when he said “most guys don’t notice/care about that kind of thing,” I tried to explain why it was a lot more complicated than that. I ended up telling this story.
Body image is something that’s so hard to talk about, and it’s hard to express body positivity without sounding cheesy, false, or overly simplistic. But I’m gonna try. This is only my own experience, and it didn’t magically cure me of all my body image issues - but it was a major turning point for me nonetheless.
As a 29 year old dude I don’t generally care about spiders when I see them, but that pitch black peanut-sized motherfucker that just crawled under my blanket and then straight up vanished into nothingness has me worried a bit. Enough to have me shaking my blanket around to make sure it isn’t still in there for ten minutes. I’m still not convinced it’s truly gone.
If this is my last post, you guys will know what happened. Avenge me.
I’m not a great pokemon fan, but god, this is MARVELLOUS *______*
((Super cool!!! Oddly familiar.))
What I love about this is that it shows that just as there are so many different kinds of Pokémon, there are just as many different kinds of people who can play it and enjoy it. E for Everyone, indeed.
